Whenever I’m in a bit of a running lull, I look for ways to get myself back into it. I might pick up a book, talk about it with other runners, or watch running movies on Netflix to try to get that running spark back.

100 Meters (2016)

100 Meters is an inspiring story of resilience and determination, based on the true and personal story of Ramón from Spain – diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in his 30s. His doctor informs him that he won’t be able to walk even 100 meters (hence the name of the movie). Ramón goes on to attempt to finish an Iron-Man (a 3.8km swim, 180 km cycle, and 42 km run (marathon), despite his diagnosis.
Born to Run (2016)

Born to Run is a biopic film based on the real-life story of Budhia Singh – a 5-year-old marathoner, and his coach, Biranchi Das. Born in poverty in India’s eastern province of Odisha, Budhia meets judo trainer Das, who realizes his running potential. Budhia eventually becomes India’s very first marathon-running champion. However, Das relentlessly pushes the child past his limits – raising ethical and child welfare concerns.
Lorena, Light-Footed Woman (2019)

Lorena Ramirez of Tarahumara, Mexico holds an extraordinary reputation for her long-distance running abilities. She has won 100 km ultramarathons – all while running in her sandals. She’s been invited to Spain, Japan, and Argentina to run. This short documentary explores Lorena’s running story – from her home in the mountains, her family (her father is also an ultramarathoner), to her thoughts on her running journey.

Sisters on Track (2021)
